Almost Blue with Michael Holman & Michelle Richardson
Hey there all you wonderful Blues fans and connoisseurs of all good music. Welcome to the Almost Blue page.
Each week we attempt to keep you entertained with a variety of music and interviews based on and around the Blues. This in no way means we don’t mix things up with other styles of great masters of music as well as our general views on the world and how to fix it. The range of blues tunes you’re likely to hear on the Almost Blues Show could start as far back as 1912 with “Memphis Blues” the very first published blues song by legendary blues figure W.C. Handy right through to the very latest releases.
In fact, long time listeners of The Almost Blue Show would recall many tracks and artist’s being broadcast for the first time on Australia radio right here on 3MDR.
And look out for our very special interviews with people such as Walter Trout, Beth Hart, Sonny Landreth, Warren Haynes, Robert Cray, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Coco Montoya, Eric Steckle, Devon Allman, Rita Chiarelli, Tinsley Ellis, Steven Dale Petit, Zakiya Hooker, Gary Hoey, Patricia Scott, Shirley Johnson, Clarence Spady, Joanna Connor and many many more.
So if you have a favourite artist, band or tune then give us a call or send us an email to the station and we will do our best to find it and then play your selection on the next show. We welcome audience participation and input into The Almost Blue Show; after all it is 3MDR, community radio at its best.
And if you like what you hear then put your money where your ears are and sign up and become a member of the station. Your support is what will keep 3MDR on air and viable for a long time to come. So select your favourite tune, send it to us, fire up the electric wireless, grab your comfort food and drink, sit back, relax and blues on till midnight with the Almost Blue Show.
Cheers from Michelle and Michael
